Travel Itenerary

Day 1: Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu

Arrive at Paro International Airport, where you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital. This scenic drive offers breathtaking views of the Paro Valley and the surrounding mountains. Upon arrival in Thimphu, check into your hotel and relax. You can take a leisurely evening stroll around Thimphu, visiting local markets and getting acquainted with the capital’s serene atmosphere.

Day 2: Thimphu – Cultural Sightseeing

Start your day by visiting Buddha Dordenma, a giant Buddha statue that overlooks the Thimphu Valley. From here, enjoy panoramic views of the city. Next, head to Tashichho Dzong, a majestic fortress-monastery that serves as the seat of Bhutan’s government and the king’s office.
After lunch, visit the Memorial Chorten, a stupa dedicated to the third king of Bhutan, and the National Library, which houses ancient Buddhist manuscripts. Continue your cultural exploration with a visit to Simply Bhutan, an interactive museum that offers insight into traditional Bhutanese life.
You will have time to explore the Handicrafts Market, where you can find Bhutanese textiles, arts, and crafts.

Day 3: Thimphu – Punakha

After breakfast, drive from Thimphu to Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan. En route, stop at the Dochu La Pass to enjoy stunning views of the eastern Himalayas. If the weather is clear, you will be treated to a magnificent vista of snow-capped peaks.
Afternoon
Upon arrival in Punakha, visit the Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most impressive architectural landmarks. The dzong is located at the confluence of the Pho and Mo rivers and houses the central monastic body. Spend time exploring the dzong’s courtyards, temples, and beautiful gardens.

In the evening relax in the tranquil environment of Punakha. You can take a short walk around the area or enjoy the peaceful riverside setting.

Day 4: Punakha – Phobjikha /Gangtey

Drive to Phobjikha Valley, a serene glacial valley known for its breathtaking beauty and wildlife. The valley is also home to the Gangtey Monastery, a prominent site in Bhutan’s religious landscape.
After visiting the monastery, enjoy a nature walk along the Gangtey Nature Trail, where you can admire panoramic views of the valley, and in winter, you may spot the rare black-necked cranes that migrate here.

Spend the night in Phobjikha, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and natural beauty of the valley.

Day 5: Phobjikha – Paro

After breakfast, drive back to Paro, a picturesque town rich in history and cultural significance. The scenic journey offers glimpses of Bhutan’s rural landscape, with beautiful valleys, villages, and rice fields.
Upon arrival in Paro, you may choose to visit the Paro Dzong, an important historical and religious site, or simply relax and explore the local markets.
Enjoy the evening at leisure, either strolling through Paro or unwinding in your hotel.

Day 6: Paro – Hike to the Tiger’s Nest

Paro’s highlight is a hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktshang), one of Bhutan’s most revered sites. Perched on a cliffside 900 meters above the Paro Valley, the monastery offers an unforgettable spiritual experience and spectacular views of the valley below. The hike takes approximately 4-5 hours, with a stop for refreshments at a café midway up the trail.
After reaching the monastery, explore its sacred temples and take in the stunning surroundings. Return to Paro after your visit, feeling enriched by the experience.

In the evening relax and enjoy a quiet evening in Paro after the rewarding hike with a experience for a hot stone bath and a dinner at the local farmhouse.

Day 7: Departure
